About FRIB

The Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) is a scientific user facility for nuclear science, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science. Located at Michigan State University, FRIB enables scientists to make discoveries about the properties of rare isotopes and the evolution of the cosmos.

FRIB Capabilities

  • 400 kW superconducting linear accelerator: Most powerful heavy-ion accelerator
  • Rare isotope production: Creation of thousands of new isotopes

Tour Registration

  • Participants must register for the tour through both the Indico registration site and the following payment site.
  • Due to capacity limitations, only 250 places are available.
  • A $75 fee will be charged for round-trip bus transportation to the FRIB facility.
  • The bus will depart from and return to the conference venue.
